Event Details

A team of five runners will cover the entire 26.2 mile distance. Each runner will run one leg of varying distance handing off a relay "slap stick" to the next team member at each relay exchange zone.  The course follows the marathon course.  Exchange zones will be marked with flags and cones and handoffs must occur within these zones.

A runner who wants to enter the full marathon may be part of a relay team, but must run the first leg of the course. He or she must also register for each of the events.

Course Open:  6 hours 
Maximum Field:  500 teams

Registration & Packet Pick-Up

Relay teams can pick up their race packet or register at the Expo on Saturday April 24, 2010 at the Savage Hall Arena. 

Packet pick-up will also be available on race day in lot 10 beginning at 5:30am.


Make sure to pick up the relay exchange point instructions and ensure you receive your relay "slap stick". 

We will be available to answer relay questions all day Saturday at the Expo (at the registration table.)



Teams can enter in the following divisions:

ALL MALE Open, Masters, Grand Masters
ALL FEMALE Open, Masters, Grand Masters
Mixed: (at least 2 females in 5 person) Open, Masters, Grand Masters
Family: Any combination from one family
Corporation: Any combination from one business or school



Awards - Relay Teams Marathon
Awards to the top three (3) teams in each of the 5 relay divisions. Please note that the relay team members are not eligible for age group awards.



Numbers and Timing Chip
Team members must wear a race number visible on their front.  All relay team members must wear a D-Tag timing chip.



Transportation
ALL RELAY ENTRANTS MUST USE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION! All parking must be in legal spots or lots.

The course is not closed to traffic. There will be congestion in several areas. Allow plenty of time and be careful.


Relay exchange Zones
Corrals are available at each relay exchange point. All team members must remain in or behind the corrals until their team member arrives at the exchange zone. RELAY TEAM MEMBERS MUST KEEP THE EXCHANGE ZONES AND THE MARATHON COURSE CLEAR.

2009 Exchange points: 

Exchange Point #1
Location is at the 6.2 mile mark, Holland Sylvania Bike Trail Crossing.  Parking is available north of the bike trail.
 

Exchange Point #2
Location is at the 10.5 mile mark, Timberstone School.  Corner of Mitchaw and Sylvania Avenue.  Parking is available at the school.

Exchange Point #3
Location is at the 14.9 mile mark, Tam O Shanter, Sylvania OH.
Parking is available at Tam O Shanter facility.

Exchange Point #4
Location is at the 20 mile mark, Wildwood MetroPark, Toledo, Ohio.  Parking is available in the front parking lots. Restrooms available at the exchange point.
