Christian is your average runner and tries to be an above average motivator. He began running in 2010 as a way to lose weight and then took it to a whole new level when he found that running is a great way to raise awareness and advocacy for charity.
In 2010 Christian began training for his first 5k for the organization of autism research (http://www.researchautism.com/
) and the OAR run 4 autism team. This charity hits home as his son was diagnosedat the age of 3 with aspergers syndrom which resides on the autism spectrum. Since then he and his wife have gone on to help lead the NE ohio Train 4 Autism team as they train for running, cyclying, and swimming events. The organization is about more than raising funds for local and national charities, it also is a great way to raise awareness and spread advocacy throughout the area.
Christian is very excited to be a part of the Medical Mutual Glass City Marathon and will make it his 6th full marathon. He has also paricpated in many other races from 5K to Triathalons as well. His family is now a Running Family as his wife Kelly has ran 3 half marathons, recently setting her personal best in Columbus by a whopping 45 minutes, his son Cal who is on the spectrum has finished numerous 5k races (he will tell you his personal best is 4 miles) and their daughter has recently started doing family fun runs.
Without the support of his family and friends and the entire Train 4 Autism family he may still be up those 80+ lbs he was in 2010.
